Member Pentel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC HEARING ON
APRIL 19, 2005 TO CONSIDER VACATION OF A PORTION OF
CERTAIN PLATTED DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENTS
IN THE PLAT OF ALLIANZ LIFE USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87
WHEREAS, a portion of certain drainage and utility easements as platted in the plat
of ALLIANZ LIFE USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87, are no longer needed and the City
desires to consider vacation of portions of these platted drainage and utility easements
legally described as follows:
That part of a 12.00 foot wide strip of land, which lies northerly of a line 66.00 feet
northerly of and parallel with the southerly line of Lot 1, Block 1, said ALLIANZ LIFE
USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87, the center of said strip is described as commencing
at the southeast corner of Lot 2, said Block 1; thence northerly, along the easterly
line of said Lot 2, to the intersection with said parallel line, and the beginning of the
center line to be described; thence northerly, along the easterly line of said Lot 2, a
distance of 250.00 feet to a northeast corner of said Lot 2; thence westerly, along a
north line of said Lot 2, a distance of 150.00 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence
northerly, along an easterly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 30.02 feet to a corner of
said Lot 2; thence westerly, along the most northerly line of said Lot 2, a distance of
221.20 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence southwesterly along the northwesterly
line of said Lot 2, said line hereinafter referred to as "Line A", a distance of 72.20
feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence southerly, along the most westerly line of said
Lot 2, a distance of 204.91 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence southeasterly,
along the southwesterly line of said Lot 2, said line hereinafter referred to as "Line
B", a distance of 17.87 feet to a corner of said Lot 2 and a point hereinafter referred
to as "Point B"; thence easterly, along a southerly line of said Lot 2 and its easterly
extension, a distance of 255.00 feet and said center line there terminating.
The sidelines of said strip are to be prolonged or shortened, so as to begin on a line
66.00 feet northerly of and parallel with the southerly line of said Lot 1.
Together with that part of said Lot 1 described as commencing at the southwest
corner of Government Lot 4, Section 4, Township 117 North, Range 21 West, said
Hennepin County; thence northerly on an assumed bearing of North 1 degrees 19
minutes 41 seconds West along the west line of said Government Lot 4, a distance
of 32.64 feet to the point of beginning of the parcel to be described; thence North
67degrees 05 minutes 07 seconds West to the intersection with the southerly
extension of a line 6.00 feet westerly of and parallel with the most westerly line of
said Lot 2; thence northerly, along said parallel line, to the intersection with the
northwesterly extension of the aforementioned "Line B"; thence southeasterly to the
aforementioned "Point B"; thence westerly, along a line parallel with the southerly
line of said Lot 1, to the west line of said Government Lot 4; thence southerly to the
point of beginning and there terminating.

Together with that part of said Lot 1 described as beginning at the intersection of the
northeasterly extension of the aforementioned "Line A" with a line 6.00 feet northerly
of and parallel with the most northerly line of said Lot 2; thence westerly, along said
parallel line and its westerly extension, to the intersection with a line 51.50 feet
southeasterly of and parallel with the northwesterly line of said Lot 1; thence
southwesterly, along the last described parallel line, to the intersection with the
northerly extension of a line 6.00 feet westerly of and parallel with the most westerly
line of Lot 2; thence southerly, along said parallel line to the intersection with the
southwesterly extension of the aforementioned "Line A"; thence northeasterly to the
point of beginning and there terminating.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley hereby schedules a public hearing on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. to
consider vacation of a portion of certain platted drainage and utility easements in the plat of
ALLIANZ LIFE USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Freiberg
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Freiberg,
Loomis, Pentel and Shaffer; and the following was absent: Grayson, and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
