06-43 - 07-05 - Amend Comprehensive Plan by adding Mixed Use Definition Resolution 06-43 July 5, 2006 Member Pentel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION FOR AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN'S GENERAL LAND USE PLAN BY ADDING A MIXED USE DEFINITION WHEREAS, the City Council has met at the time and place specified in a notice duly published with respect to the subject matter hereof and has heard all interested persons, and it appearing in the interest of the public that the General Land Use Plan as heretofore adopted and enacted by the City of Golden Valley be amended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Golden Valley, that pursuant to the provision of Chapter 11.90, Subd. 7 of the City Code for the City of Golden Valley, the General Land Use Plan for the City of Golden Valley is hereby amended by adding a Mixed Use Land Use definition to the General Land Use Plan as follows: Mixed Use (MU): This category includes tracts of land, buildings, or structures that support two or more land uses which are complementary to one another, support the ability to live, work, shop and/or play within a defined land use area, and are in a compact urban form. Virnig, City Clerk I The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Shaffer and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Freiberg, Loomis, Pentel, Scanlon and Shaffer; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
