Member Pentel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 83,
RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING CONDUCT OF CITY ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council appointed an Election Task Force on March 21, 2006
to study certain processes regarding City elections and report back to the City Council with
recommendations on the election process; and
WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution No. 83 on September 26, 1977,
Recommendations Regarding Conduct of City Elections; and
WHEREAS, the Elections Task Force has reviewed the Code of Ethics and
recommended that Resolution No. 83 be rescinded because State Election Law now
provides rules of conduct for candidates to follow.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that Resolution No. 83,
dated September 26, 1977 is hereby rescinded.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Shaffer
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Freiberg,
Loomis, Pentel, Scanlon and Shaffer; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
