09-09 - 02-03 - Surface Water Management Plan Element - Comprehensive Plan Resolution 09-9 February 3, 2009 Member Pentel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption, as amended: include the Planning Commission comments. RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN ELEMENT OF THE GOLDEN VALLEY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the state legislature requires that the comprehensive plans of local governrpents be in conformance with the metropolitan system plans prepared by the Metropolitan Council; and WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has undertaken extensive review and analysis of the City's surface water management issues and opportunities; and WHEREAS, the City has prepared an updated Surface Water Management Plan Element of the Comprehensive Plan as required by the Metropolitan Council; and WHEREAS, the City has submitted and received comments on the plan from the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Commission, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, and adjacent cities; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, following a public hearing on the plan, has recommended their approval on January 12, 2009; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a formal public hearing to consider the Surface Water Management Element of the Comprehensive Plan on February 3, 2009. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that the Surface Water Management Element be hereby adopted as part of the City's Comprehensive Plan.
