Member Clausen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION RECINDING RESTRICTION OF VEHICLE PARKING ON
GENERAL MILLS BOULEVARD FROM TRUNK HIGHWAY 55
TO A POINT 500 FEET SOUTH AND ESTABLISHING A NO PARKING ZONE
ON BOTH SIDES OF GENERAL MILLS BOULEVARD FROM
TRUNK HIGHWAY 55 SOUTH TO WAYZATA BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the City Council has the power and authority, pursuant to Chapter 9.Q6,
Subd. 2 of the City Code, to designate no parking zones and areas, and it appears that no
parking zones on both sides of General Mills Boulevard (formerly Boone Avenue) from
Trunk Highway 55 ta 500 feet south are no longer adequate. The parking prohibitians, as
established on July 5, 1978 in Council Resolution 71 will be removed.
WHEREAS, the City Council has the power and authority, pursuant to Chapter 9.06,
Subd. 2 of the City Code, to designate no parking zones and areas, and it appears that no
parking zones are needed on both sides of General Mills Boulevard between Trunk
Highway 55 and Wayzata Boulevard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council far the City of Golden
Valley to rescind the parking restrictions as established on July 5, 1978 by Council
Resolution 71 and permanently restrict parking on both sides of General Mills Boulevard
between Trunk Highway 55 and Wayzata Boulevard.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Freiberg
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Clausen,
Freiberg, Harris, Pentel and Scanlon; and the following vated against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and his signature attested by the City Glerk.
