13-008 - 02-05 - support funding request by five cities senior transportation project Resolution 13-8 February 5, 2013
Member Scanlon introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FUNDING REQUEST BY FIVE CITIES SENIOR
TRANSPORTATION PROJECT FROM THE 2013 CONSOLIDATED POOL - URBAN
HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Golden Valley was ane of the founding
members of the Five Cities Senior Transportation Project in 1985; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has provided continual financial support for
the Project from the City's General Fund and with Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) funds allocated to the City of Golden Valley because of the demonstrated need
that has praved by the number of rides provided to seniors each year since 1985; and
WHEREAS, the need for such senior transportation will continue to grow in
upcoming years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley no longer has its own CDBG allocation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Golden
Valley that it supports the funding request by the Five Cities Senior Transportation Project
from the 2013 Consolidated Pool that is part of the Urban Hennepin County Community
Development Block Grant Program.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Pentel
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Clausen; Harris,
Pentel, Scanlon and Schmidgall; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
