Member Pentel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL FOR THE
MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
CORRIDQR INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT STRATEGY SOLICITATION
WHEREAS, funding is available from the Minnesota Department of Transportation
for projects along Trunk Highways that improve quality of life, environmental health or
economic competitiveness; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation currently has no
programmed improvements along Trunk Highway 55; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has identified multiple areas for potential
redevelopment in the Trunk Highway 55 corridor; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has multiple infrastructure improvements
programmed along the Trunk Highway 55 corridor; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has identified pedestrian connection needs
across Trunk Highway 55; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of flashing yellow arrow traffic signal operation
along the corridor will improve access to local destinations and reduce vehicle delay.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Golden Valley City Council hereby
authorizes the Director of Public Works or her designee to prepare and submit an
application ta the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the Corridor Investment
Management Strategy solicitation.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Schmidgall and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Clauser�, Harris, Pentel, Scanlon and Schmidgall; and the following voted against the
same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
