16-21 - 04-05 - Grant for Sustainability Planning Resolution 16-21 April 5, 2016 Member Fonnest introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SUBMITTAL OF GRANT APPLICATION TO MINNESOTA POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND RESILIENCE PLANNING WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley is eligible to apply for a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, under its fiscal year 2016-2017 Environmental Assistance Grant Program; and WHEREAS, City staff has identified a need for funding to conduct community-wide long-term sustainability and resilience planning as part of the update to the City's Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the grant would fund the work of an experienced consultant to assist staff in engaging the community, identifying sustainability and resilience goals, and incorporating implementation strategies into the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, staff has reviewed all terms and conditions of this funding opportunity and finds them to be satisfactory. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Golden Valley that the Council is supportive of staff's submittal of a grant application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for sustainability and resilience planning. 93v^__-_z A. �4_�- - Shep rd M.
