86-02 HRA Resolution . . . Resolution 86-2 March 12, 1986 Commissioner Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE OR CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR EFFECTUATION OF A PORTION OF THE CENTRAL AREA OF THE GOLDEN HILLS REDEVELOPMENT PLAN WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota (the IIHRAII) has determined that there exists an area in the City of Golden Valley which is a deteriorated and deteriorating area within the meaning of Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.421; Subd. 13, and has determined that it is necessary to initiate a revitalization program in order to eliminate and prevent the spread of such deterioration; and WHEREAS, the HRA and the City Council of the City of Golden Valley have approved the Golden Hills Redevelopment Plan to eliminate and prevent the spread of such deterioration; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to acquire the real estate hereinafter described in order to carry out and implement the plan of revitalization as defined in said Plan, thereby making the land described therein useful and valuable for contributing to the public health, safety and welfare; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to acquire said lands in order to eliminate the conditions found to exist in the Plan and to carry out the redeve 1 opment projects as defi ned therei n; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the HRA that the lands hereinafter described be acquired by purchase or condemnation and the HRA's Director and its Attorney, or such other person(s) as shall be duly designated and di rected, are hereby authorized and di rected to take all necessary steps and to execute all necessary documents in connection with the acquisition of said real estate, to-wi t: That part of the Southeast V4 of the North V2 of Section 4, Township 117, Range 21, lying Easterly of Xenia Avenue South and Southerly of Lot A, Registered Land Survey No. 661, Hennepin County, Minnesota, except that part to be taken by the State of Minnesota for 1-394 and Xenia Avenue Sou t h. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acquisition of the above-described real estate is necessary and desirable, and the purposes aforesaid for which said lands are to be acquired are proper and necessary public urposes. . . . Resolution 86-2 - Continued March 12, 1986 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Commissioner Johnson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Chair and his signature attested by the Di rector.
