89-04 HRA Resolution . . . Resolution 89-4 July 11, 1989 Commissioner Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE OR CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR EFFECTUATION OF A PORTION OF THE NORTH WIRTH PARKWAY REDEVELOPMENT PLAN (WHITE HOUSE - 4900 OLSON MEMORIAL HIGHWAY) WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota (the "HRA") has determined that there exists an area within the meaning of Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.421; Subd. 13, and has determined that it is necessary to initiate a revitalization program in order to eliminate and prevent the spread of such deterioration; and WHEREAS, the HRA and the City Council of the City of Golden Valley have approved the North Wirth Parkway Redevelopment Plan to eliminate and prevent the spread of such deterioration; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to acquire the real estate hereinafter described in order to carry out and implement the Plan of revitalization as defined in said Plan, thereby making the land described therein useful and valuable for contributing to the public health, safety and welfare; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to acquire said land in order to eliminate the conditions found to exist in the Plan and to carry out the redevelopment projects as defined therein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the HRA that the land hereinafter described be acquired by purchase or condemnation and the Authority's Director and its Attorney, or such other persons(s) as shall be duly designated and directed, are hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps and to execute all necessary documents in connection with the acquisition of said real estate, to-wit: That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 19, Township 29, Range 24 described as beginning at a point on the South line of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter distant 487.29 feet West from the Southeast corner of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence West along said South line a distance of 387 feet; thence North, parallel with the East line of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, a distance of 650 feet; thence East parallel with said South line a distance of 120 feet; thence South parallel with said East line a distance of 457 feet; thence East parallel with said South line a distance of 267 feet; thence South parallel with said East line a distance of 193 feet to the point of beginning, according to the Government Survey thereof. . . . Resolution 89-4 - Continued July 11, 1989 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the HRA that acquisition of such land is authorized for the public purpose of redevelopment pursuant to the North Wirth Parkway Redevelopment Plan.
