93-02 HRA Resolution Resolution 93-2 July 13, 1993 . Member Bakken introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE OR CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF VALLEY SQUARE "AREA B" AND WIDENING OF WINNETKA AVENUE WHEREAS, the Valley Square Redevelopment Plan as adopted by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) in and for the City of Golden Valley in 1978 and last amended in 1991 provides for the widening of Winnetka Avenue and redevelop- ment of Area B, boUnded by Trunk Highway 55, Winnetka Avenue, Bassett Creek and Wisconsin Avenue; ~nd WHEREAS, it is necessary for both the street widening and redevelopment purposes to acquire three parcels of real property commonly known as the Bies, Maren and Tower Square shopping centers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Golden Valley that: 1. It is necessary, desirable and in the public interest to acquire the three parcels of real property commonly referred to as the Bies, Maren Corporation and Tower Square shopping centers as legally described in "Exhibit A"; and . 2. The HRA staff and attorney, or such other persons as necessary are hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps and execute all necessary documents to acquire such real property; and 3. In the event that the real property descri bed on "Exhibit A" cannot be expeditiously acquired by negotiated purchase, the HRA staff and attorney are authorized and directed to com- mence condemnation proceedings to acquire such property; and 4. and public Chair . The motion for the ion f the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Thompson, and upon e being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bakken, Rus e 1, Stockman and Thompson; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Director. . . .
