94-05 HRA Resolutions Log e - e Resolution 94-5 May 10, 1994 Commissioner Russell introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE OR CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE GOLDEN HILLS WEST AREA WHEREAS, the Golden Hills Redevelopment Plan as adopted by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) in and for the City of Golden Valley in 1984 provides for the acquisition of property for redevelopment, and WHEREAS, the Midland Welding property does not have street access and needs access through an easement on property adjacent to Wayzata Boulevard which is proposed to be redeveloped as a hotel; and WHEREAS, the HRA has determined that acquisition of the property is pre- ferable to providing an alternative easement to access the property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the HRA in and for the City of Golden Valley that: 1. It is necessary, desirable and in the public interest to acquire the two parcels of real property commonly referred to as the Midland Welding, 6010 Wayzata Boulevard, which is legally described in "Exhibit A"; and 2. The HRA staff and attorney, or such other persons as necessary are hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps and execute all necessary documents to acquire such real property; and 3. In the event that the real property described on "Exhibit A" can- not be expeditiously acquired by negotiated purchase, the HRA staff and attorney are authorized and directed to commence condem- nation proceedings to acquire such property; and 4. The acquisition of such real property is necessary and desirable and constitutes a proper and necessary public purpose. ~~~- David A. Parcel 2 The East 40 feet of the West 1034 98/100 feet of that part of Government Lot 3 lying North of the South 345 6/10 feet thereof and South of the North 633 feet thereof.
