3.Approval of Agenda
MOTION by Chair Gladney to approve the agenda. Commissioner Quimby seconded the motion and
the motion passed unanimously.
4.Approval of Minutes
MOTION by Commissioner Quimby to amend the 6/9/22 minutes to show Commissioner
Quimby’s updated presentation, SECOND by Commissioner Anderson. Approved unanimously.
5.Assign Sub-Committee Members
Chair Gladney moved PEACE Commission members to different sub-committees to better complete
workplans. Below are the movements made:
-Commissioner Arradondo was moved to Recruitment and Hiring
-Commissioner Ryan was moved to Programs of Research and Study
-Commissioner Anderson was moved to Community Engagement
-Chair Gladney moved to chair of Recruitment and Hiring
-Chair Gladney relieved Vice Chair Smith of her sub-committee chair and moved Smith to
Programs of Research and Study

6. Community Engagement Update
Commissioner Quimby presented the workplan draft for the Community Engagement Sub-
Committee.
Chair Gladney recommended we honor officer Taovs, who was involved in an officer involved
shooting.
Commissioner Crosby asked for access for data on what race, ethnicities, age, and other identities are
present in Golden Valley.
Equity and Inclusion Manager Zackery shared that the city uses census data to determine who lives in
the community.
Commissioner Anderson suggested engaging with citizens returning from incarceration.
Commissioner Quimby suggested contacting apartment renters’ association.
Commissioner Crosby says we should focus on 1 or 2 groups to start building community with, so the
commission isn’t overwhelmed.
Chair Gladney suggested using technology, such as social media, email, texting etc. to engage with
communities.
Commissioner Ryan emphasized using listening sessions to engage youth.
7. Training Update
Staff Liaison Williams reminded Commissioners that the training workshop, lead by Kasim Abdur
Razzaq, would be held 6/11/22 from 9am-3pm at Brookview.
8. Prepare for 7/12 City Council Meeting (Work Plans)
Subcommittees got together to work on plans
9. Adjournment
MOTION by Chair Gladney to adjourn at 8:05pm, SECOND by Commissioner Bakken. Approved
unanimously.
