02-06-08 Special CM minutes Special Council/Manager Meeting Minutes
February 6, 2008
Present: Mayor Loomis and Council Members Freiberg, Pentel, Scanlon and Shaffer. City
Manager Tom Burt, Finance Director Sue Virnig, Public Works Director Jeannine Clancy
and Director of Planning and Development Mark Grimes.
The meeting began at 5:30 pm in the City Council Conference Room.
2008 Legislative Priorities
Senator Ron Latz, Representative, Ryan Winkler and Representative Lyndon Carlson were
at the meeting to review the Council Legislative Priorities that were summarized in a
booklet ineluded in the agenda packet. The Council discussed the following priorities and
got feedback from the legislators:
• Fiscal Disparities
• Group Residential Facilities in the Single Family (R-1) Zoning District
• Metropolitan Council Inflow/Infiltration Surcharge
• Minnesota Department of Transportation, Transportation Funding and Management
• Education Funding
• Funding for the Clean Water Legacy Act
The meeting adjourned at 6:35 pm.
