Minutes of the October 7, 1996 Meeting
Golden Valley Council Conference Room
Members Present: Jay Hoffman, Sharon Mattison, Duane Wosje, Robbin
Rouillard, Gloria Johnson, Bob Blenkush, Joyce Doerffler, Sue Virnig-staff
liaison, and Harlan Peterson guest
Members Absent: Bob Lang(getting married), Elissa Heilicher, and Hilmer
Erickson .
We still need an additional member for our Foundation membership.
The meeting was called to order by Jay Hoffman at 7:03pm.
Duane Wosje moved and Joyce Doerffler seconded the motion to approve the
September 9, 1996 minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
The Run! Walk had 138 participants and made $1136.94.
Sharon Mattison will call members to work at the Opus Grand Opening on
October 26 & 27. If you would like to volunteer to sell T-shirts and notecards
either day please call Sharon.
Harlan Peterson (Joyce Doerffler's husband) has run golf tournaments in the
pastand would like to help the Foundation set one up in 1997. He would not
charge us for his time and would donate glass tee markers for the toumey. A
sub-committee would be set up. Harlan Peterson, Joyce Doerffler and Bob
Blenkush would chair the committee. Marketing, Prizes/Gifts, Sponsorship,
Volunteers, Logistics, and Registration are the specific areas that need to be
looked at in detail. Sue Virnig will meet with Bill Joynes and Kris Tovson to talk
about dates and prices. The Foundation would like a Saturday and low rates.
The amount compensated would have to be approved by the City or Council.
Jay Hoffman moved that the Committee get a date from Brookview and Sharon
Mattison seconded it. The motion passed unanimously.
The November meeting is canceled due to the holiday and city offices will be
closed. The Golf Tourney Committee will meet on November 4 at 7:00pm at
Golden Valley Council Conference Room.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:08pm.
