Minutes of the November 10, 1997
Golden Valley Council Conference Room
Members Present: Sharon Mattison, Duane Wosje, Bob Blenkush, Joyce
Doerffler, Gloria Johnson, Hilmer Erickson, Elissa Heilicher, Bob Lang and Sue
Virnig, Staff liaison.
Members Absent: Robbin Rouillard, Jay Hoffman, and Rod Wooten.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by Chair Bob Lang.
Resignation: Jay Hoffman has resigned.
Council Meeting Report: Bob Lang reported that he attended the October 21,
1997 Council Meeting. He presented the Foundation's allocation report. The
Council received and filed the report and complimented the Foundation on their
wonderful job they have done.
PRISM: Liz Johnson, Program Director, presented information on what PRISM is
currently doing and how it works with Golden Valley residents. In 1996, they
served 235 families from Golden Valley. 203 families have used services as of
October1997. 1997 will be a record year. Food supplies need to be replenished.
PRISM has had difficulties in paying expenses but hope to have that under
control by year end.
Elissa Heilicher moved and Hilmer seconded that the full amount designated to
PRISM will be paid in first quarter on 1998. The motion passed unanimously.
Planning for Upcoming Events: Many fund raising ideas were discussed. The
Golf tournament would be held in September. The runlwalk should be held in
May if possible. The flower sale will not be held if other events will occur. Ideas
should be brought to the next meeting for discussion in detail.
Adjournment: Bob Blenkush moved adjournment at 9: 15pm and was seconded
by Elissa Heilicher. The motion passed unanimously.
