Minutes of the May 11, 1998
Golden Valley Council Conference Room
Members Present: Sharon Mattison, Duane Wosje, Gloria Johnson, Hilmer
Erickson, Bob Lang, Jeff Hansen and. Sue Virnig, Staff liaison.
Members Absent: Robbin Rouillard (resigned), Elissa Heilicher, Terri DeVeau
and Rod Wooten.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by Chair Bob Lang.
Approval of Minutes: Hilmer Erickson moved and Gloria Johnson seconded
approval of the April 13, 1998 minutes with one correction to the name of the
radio station to KSTP 94.5. The motion passed unanimously. Minutes of the
March 9 meeting have not been received as of the May meeting. Robbin will be
contacted.
Election of New Officers:
Chair: Bob Lang moved and Hilmer Erickson seconded the nomination of Sharon
Mattison for Chair of the Human Services Foundation. The motion passed
unanimously. Sharon Mattison was appointed Chair.
Vice Chair: Gloria Johnson moved and Bob Lang seconded the nomination of
Jeff Hans.en for Vice Chair of the Human Services Foundation. The motion
passed unanimously. Jeff Hansen was appointed Vice Chair.
Secretarv: Hilmer Erickson moved and Bob Lang seconded the nomination of
Duane Wosje for Secretary of the Human Services Foundation. The motion
passed unanimously. Duane Wosje was appointed Secretary.
Resignation/New Members Update: Robbin Rouillard has resigned because of
conflict with work but would like to stay active with the golf tournament. The
Golden Valley Human Services Foundation is short two members.
Brochure: Robbin will be meeting with staff to hand over the brochure
information explaining the Golden Valley Human Services Foundation.
RunlWalk: The run/walk was a successful event with 236 participants and raised
over $1650 for the Foundation. The following items need to be addressed for
next year's event: water, more orange juice, water given to runners, t-shirts,
volunteer gifts, and date. Bob Lang moved and Duane Wosje seconded. giving
the volunteers t-shirts. The motion passed unanimously.
Golf Event-September 19, 1998: Last years sponsors will be contacted before
the next meeting. The members should bring a list of new contacts to the next
meeting for possible sponsorship. The next meeting will focus mainly on the gOlf
tournament. Bob Lang would contact Kris Tovson about the men's club
membership list.
Other:
Discussion was held on additional t-shirts and if the Foundation should Order
more t-shirts for sale. The t-shirt idea would be put on hold for now.
The City Open House will be June 24 from 6-9 pm. This will be discussed at the
next meeting on scheduling people to work the booth.
Adjournment: Bob Lang adjournment at 8: 1 Opm and was seconded by Duane
Wosje. The motion passed unanimously.
