Minutes of the January 11, 1999 Meeting
Golden Valley Council Conference Room
Members Present: Hilmer Erickson, Karen Neis, Carolyn Fiterman, Elissa
Heilicher, Terri DeVeau, Gloria Johnson and Sue Virnig, Staff liaison.
Members Absent: Rod Wooten, Jeff Hansen, Lori Heilman, and Duane Wosje.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Vice Chair Terri
DeVeau.
Approval of Minutes: Elissa Heilicher moved and Hilmer Erickson seconded
approval of the December 14, 1998 minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
Run the Valley: The date is set for April 17, 1999 at 8:30am.
Publicitv: Post, City Newsletter, and Cable have been contacted. Elissa will
contact KARE 11 and Terri will contact KQRS. Handouts will be ready at the next
meeting for distribution to various health clubs and sporting goods stores.
Sponsors: Liberty Carton will donate $1000 and Lupient will donate $800 for
the expense of the t-shirts. GV Rotary has donated $100. Other sponsors will be
contacted for food and money. Duane will be contacted to see if Yoplait will give
product.
Volunteers: Jeff Hanson will be contacted to see if he can get 20 volunteers.
Other: Bob Lang dropped off the design of the 1999 t-shirt. Everyone loved the
look and at the next meeting decisions will be made about color t-shirt and price.
Other: The pulltab revenue thru November is higher than previous years by
about $3000.00. A new organization has started selling pulltabs at JJ's
Clubhouse that has helped in monthly revenue.
Adjournment: Karen Neis moved and Carolyn Fiterman seconded adjournment
at 8:00pm. The motion passed unanimously. Next meeting is February 8,1999.
