GOLDEN VALLEY HUMAN SERVICES FOUNDATION
Minutes of the June 14, 1999 Meeting
Golden Valley Conference Room 1
Members Present: Hilmer Erickson, Karen Neis, Mary Anne Moore, Jeff Hansen, Carolyn Fiterman,
Elissa Heilicher and Sue Virnig, Staff Liaison.
Members Absent: Lori Heilman, Gloria Johnson, Vita Wilson, Terri DeVeau, and Helen Bassett
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. by Hilmer
Approval of May Minutes: Hilmer Erickson moved and Elissa seconded approval of the May
minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
GoliTournament: September 25, 1999 at 8:30 a.m. at Brookview Golf Course. We reviewed last
year's sponsors. Weare looking for more Golden Valley businesses to sponsor the event. We need
hole sponsors by the July meeting, in order to be included in the brochure. Last year we had
approximately 15 hole sponsors.
~ $500- hole sponsorship (includes a foursome)
~ $1,000- corporate sponsorship (includes a foursome)
~ $ 75- cart (name on a cart)
Elissa brought a catalog for corporate sponsor plaques/markers. We chose a round acrylic design.
Board members will contact designated donors from last year, to solicit gifts and sponsorships for this
year. All board members can solicit new donors who were not included on the list, as well. Elissa
reviewed the plans for food for the event.
Resignation: Jeff Hansen submitted his resignation effective after the July 12 board meeting. He and
his family purchased a home in south Minneapolis, and will no longer be living in Golden Valley.
Thanks Jeff for your service to the city of Golden Valley.
City of Golden Valley Open House: The city will be having their annual open house on Wednesday,
June 23rd from 6-8:30 p.m. Mary Anne volunteered to represent the foundation at this event.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
