Golden Valley Human Services Foundation Meeting Minutes
July 12, 2004
Golden Valley Council Conference Room
Present: Joanie Clausen, Hilmer Erickson, Mike Freiberg, Gloria Johnson, Larry
Kennebeck, Karen Neis, and Steve Schumacher. Also.present Sue Virnig, Staff
Liaison.
Not Present: Paul Flood, Elissa Heilicher, and Kristin Larson.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Schumacher at 6:37 P.M.
June 14, 2004 Minutes: Neis moved and Kennebeck seconded the motion to
approve the minutes of the June 14, 2004 meeting, with the addition of Hilmer
Erickson as "Present" and the date of the approved minutes corrected to May 10.
The motion passed unanimously.
Allocation Questionnaire: Johnson moved and Clausen seconded to receive and
file the 2005 Guidelines for Foundation requests. The motion passed
unanimously.
Solicitation Letter: Thank you letters will be sent to thoSe that have donated
money to the GVHSF. Virnig reported that as of this meeting, GVHSF had
received $6,986.
Golf Tournament (9/10104): The tournament has thirteen sponsors as of this
meeting. Members divided up tasks to make calls and ask for donations for the
tournament. Neis reported on door prize solicitation letters she has sent out.
Clausen has already received door prizes and she will obtain more. GVHSF
members will try to recruit ten volunteers for the event. Clausen called John
Giese, who will donate 128 pens for the golf bag.
GVHSF Composition Update: Freiberg reported that the City Council interviewed
a potential GVHSF member on July 6, 2004.
Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by Freiberg, seconded by Clausen. The meeting
was adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
