Section 12.53: Conveyance by Metes and
Bounds
No transfer of ownership of land may occur in which the land is described: 1) by
metes and bounds; 2) by reference to an unapproved registered land survey made
after April 21,1961; or, 3) to an unapproved plat made after the effective date of
this Chapter. However, transfers of ownership of land may occur as found in
Minnesota Statutes 1989,462.358, Subdivision 4b, (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and (6).
Any person seeking a waiver of the requirements for platting as provided in the
aforementioned Section of the Minnesota Statutes shall make an application to the
Planning Department accompanied by a fee as determined by Council resolution.
