Village of Golden Valley
November - 1956
On November 14,1956 the Golden Valley Park Board met in regular
session in the village hall. Present were Stockman, Gustafson
and Ostroot.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
It was noted that a special meeting had been held to appear before the
village council to discuss the matter of a bond issue for park
purposes. nor. Doell, Superintendent of the Yinneapolis Board of
P,rk Comiisioners was also present and outlined the type of
survey needed to study our park needs and set up the amount of
bonds to be sought. Upon favorable council action, we engaged
a landscape architect, Y r. Robert G. Corwine, to work with
Mr. Doell and his staff and prepare such charts and reports as
will be needed to inform the residents of park needs for the
present and future.
preparations have been made for skating rinks and winter activites
so when weather conditions are favorable, the village crews will
proceed and. make the rinks available.
The next regular meeting will be held on December 12, 1956.
