Also present were Kris Tovson - Golf Operations Manager, Rick Birno, Sharyl Thompson and Rick
Jacobson.
There were no agenda changes or additions.

A motion was made by Jim Johnson and seconded by George Murad to approve the minutes of
September 28,'1992. Motion carried.
RECREATION REPORT - RICK BIRNO
Rick Birno reviewed some statistics from the summer programs. The T -ball program expanded to
a morning and afternoon program, and increased by 50 kids over last year. Overall, attendance at
the open playgrounds increased.
The Fall Soccer program increased greatly over last year. We now have 23 teams with a total of
310 kids participating. These numbers made it difficult to find coaches and fields.
There was some discussion on the need for soccer fields. Rick Jacobson explained that some
money had been budgeted into the CIP in the past, but the project had been cut. However, if the
soccer program keeps growing as it has been, there will be a need for more fields.
Rick Birno went on to report that all of the fall special events have been filled to capacity. These
included a trip to the Mall of America, a hayride and pumpkin "hunt", and Saturday With Banta.
The in house ice hockey program has been cancelled due to low registration numbers over the past
few years. A combined program is now available through NHPAA. We will be offering an ice
hockey camp to be held on Saturday mornings.
GOLF OPERATIONS REPORT - KRIS TOVSON
Kris Tovson reported on the golf operations for 1992.
1) On May 23rd, a clinic was done by Art Sellenger, a national long drive champion.
2) A new golf pro was hired, Dave Cunliffe. This allowed us to offer special events and many
more group lessons. Group lessons were given to 290 adults and 90 juniors (8-17 years old).
3) The junior golf program had 120 participants.
4) A 5 -day junior golf camp was held for the more advanced players.
5) Over 500 private lessons were given.
6) The grill started catering for golf events. Twenty-two groups took advantage of this service.
7) A handicap computer was installed.

Marshall Rappaport to serve on the sidewalk committee. Motion carried.
OUTDOOR POOL TASK FORCE
George Murad reported on the two public information meetings that were held. Two residents
were present for the meeting at Noble Elementary and eight attended the meeting at Brookview.
The referendum is set for November 3rd.

carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:55 PM.
