Pr����t at the meeting were Commissioners Gloria Kumagai and Andrew Wold; Police Chief Jason St�g�s, �.ommander Steve Johnson, Commander Dave Kuhnly and Administrative Assistant Amanda JohnsQn. A�proval of Minutes of Februarv 5, 2018 ���� � �"���� Commissioner Wold moved to approve the minutes from the �'e;��aary 5,,�(��4.meeting as pres�nted; seconded by Commissioner Kumagai. The meeting minutes were unanimo�s�y approved. A�proval of Police Officer Eli ibility Re ister.. Chief Sturgis advised 47 applications were recei�v�d fcir the police officer p�sition,which is only 1/3 of the number usually received. Twenty candidates parti��pateC�;��i the fitness test a�r�_l2��advanced to the interview paneL Ultimately 4 candidates moved onto the fin�I intervie�,an�i�� were pla.c�cl on the police officer eligibility register for commission approval. � � �F� - � �;� Commissioner Wold inquir�d whether:tkzere were only�o candidates on the register due to the low number of applicants and whether the candidates��i�e less desirable';�han candidates from previous processes due to the overall scores being lowe�. Ck�ief Sturgis stated the two cai�cdidates were the only two candidates that successfully completed the fir��i:��terview az�d the candidat��' ranks were decided by their law enforcement . experience. �� Chief Sturgl�advised he�l���b�en giv�"��Sermission to extend conditional offers to both candidates by the city manager��en though there"is,��rently oni��ne vacant officer position. Both candidates will be given job offers if th��,successfully complete the baci�grr�und,psychological and medical. Commissioner Wold moved to appxove the police officer eligibility register; seconded by Commissioner Kumagai. The pc�l�ce officer eligi�ility register was unanimously approved.
