Summary
The Talo apartments are located north of Interstate 394 and west of Trunk Highway 100 within
the Globus Golden Valley Addition PUD No 112. As the developer completed construction, the
City performed a number of routine inspections. The inspections performed included closed
circuit televising of the existing and new City sanitary sewer and Inflow and Infiltration (I/I) of the
private sanitary sewer system on site.
During the sanitary sewer inspections there was standing wastewater in one of the manholes and
in several of the pipes. Upon further investigation it was determined that there were a number of
contributing factors that resulted in the restricted sewer flows.
Staff and the developer’s teams have met a number of times to determine the solution to this
sanitary sewer issue. The proposed resolution of the sewer issues includes reconstruction of
portions of the new and existing sewer system, and financial participation from the developer
and City. Staff will provide the HRA of a summary of the sanitary sewer issue at its work session
and anticipated future steps.
