01/24/59 CSC MinutesI Ib Minutes of Civil Service Commission January 24, 1959 Meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called to order at 1:30 P.M. Members present: Hans Reiss, President, John Enghauser, Secty, and Ray Currey, newly appointed member. Commission Secretary Enghauser explained briefly to new member Ray Currey how, in normal succession, Hans Reiss becomes President of the Commission and John Enghauser Oecretary for the year 1959. A brief discussion outlined Ray Currey's duties for the year. MOVED by Enghauser, seconded by Currey to accept the resignation of patrolman John Richards, effective February 1, 1959, duly passed. The request of John Richards for a six—month leave of absence was denied in the same motion. Copy of John Richards written resignation attached hereto. THE COMMISSION instructed the Secretary to notify probationary patrolman Melvin Kilbo, through the Acting Chief's office, that the Commission is concerned about his gain in weight since first being placed on a proba— tionary basis, and to advise Melvin Kilbo that the Commission will again review his physical qualifications before the deadline time for certifi— cation to pemanent status. THE COMMISSION instructed Ever6tt Frandsen, acting Chief to have the proper village official request Civil Service Examination forms from the State to be made available when needed for next examination.
