12/20/60 CSC MinutesDecember 203, 1960 Minutes of the Civil Service Commission Meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held at the Village Hall at 4:30 P.M., }december 20, 1960. Members present: Chairman Enghauser, Secretary Blasing, and Commissioner Reiss. Purpose of the meeting was to establish a new eligible register to be effective January 1, 1961, which is attached. In accordance with Chapter 694—IiF, No. 1026, amending Minnesota Statues of 1957, the Commission integrated the previous eligible register which had been depleted to two men in accordance with Section 3-419.06 which was approved 4-24-59 by the State Legislature with special reference to Part (4) which reads as follows: "The creation and maintenace of lists of eligible candidates after successful examination in order of their standing in the examination and without reference to time of examination, which shall be embraced in an eligible roster". The Commission paid particular attention to the part of this section "and without reference to the time of examination" in the integration of the old list with the new list. This primarily involved Elvin d. Gustafson and Bernard L. Viklund. Chairman Enghauser then instructed Secretary Blasing to write a letter informing the Village Manager of the results of the written and oral ex— aminations to determine the qualified Patrolmen for advancement in rank to the position of Sergeant on the Golden Valley Police Force.
