Upon presentation of correspondence and opinion of village attorney
Stanley Kane, John Enghauser introduced the following resolution to
amend the Rules and Regulations adopted February 1, 1960.
Be it resolved by the Police Civil Service Commission of the Village
of Golden Valley, pursuant to the provisions of M.S.A. 419-06 (7), that
the Rules and Regulations of the Civil Service Commission adopted
February 1, 1960, are hereby amended by striking therefrom Section 9
ti'�ereof and substituting in lieu thereof the following language:
Section 9 - Certification. When a full-time or part-time vacancy
esists, the Commission shall certify to the appointing authority
the three names standing highest on the appropriate register.
Motion for the adoption of the foregoing resulution was duly seconded
by member A. C. Blasing, and upon vote being taken thereon, resolution
was passed uuanimously.
The secretary pointed out to the Commission that the matter of a change
in the length of the probationary period had also been referred to
attorney Stanley Kane who advised that the legislature, having covered
the subject, the Commission does not have authokity to either shorten
or lengthen the probationary periodo as covered in attached correppondence
with attorney Kane.
