11/08/69 CSC MinutesGOLDEN VALLEY CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Minutes of November 8, 1969 Meeting The Golden Valley Civil Service Commission met at the home of Chairman E. C. Glass at 7:45 P.M. on November 8, 1969. Present were E. C. Glass, Wally Erickson, B. C. Omans, E. C. Frandsen, and R. J. Hazelrigg. The Civil Service Commission budget was discussed, revealing that we are operating well within our 1969 budget. Expenditures thus far this year have been very low because we have not conducted any examinations, Everett Frandsen reported that Golden Valley now has a twenty-eight man police force with ten police cars. (Five marked cars and five unmarked cars,) Mr. Omans advised that the Golden Valley Council has ruled that on future Village personnel advertisements, an ad will be run in at least one Negro sponsored paper, This ruling applies to our advertisements for police officers as well as other Village personnel, Mr. Glass reported that he had recently sent a copy of the Civil Service Commission minutes to the Golden Valley League of Women Voters, He sent these minutes in request to their request for same.
