10-05-37 City Council MinutesOct. 5, 1937. Meeting called to order by the Chairman (Paul. A. Seeman) Members present. Frandsen, Seeman, Engelbretson, Reiss, & Johnson. Minutes of the previous meeting read. There being no corrections or objectione,minutes declared accepted as read. Motion by Reiss seconded by, Engelbretson to set the fee for trailer camp license at Twenty Five (W) Dollars. Frandeen,Seeman,Reiss, Engilbreteen,and Johnson (Yes). Motion by Johnson seconded by Reiss to adopt the trailer ordinance as read and to publish in The Hennepin County Enterprise. Frandeen,Seeman, Reiss, Engelbretson, and Johnson(Yes-). Motion by Engelbretson seconded by Frandsen to refer ptitetion by residents of the Tyrol Mills Additon for the vacating of that part of France Avenue an the south side of Superior Boulevard in the Tyrol_ Mills district to the Attorney. Frandsen, Seeman, Reiss, Engelbretson, and Johnson,(yes). Applicaticn by the Calhoun Gun Club for permit to operat a gun club on the prtperty of John Gaffney was read and laid over for the next meeting. Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen to rant building permits to F.' R. Lein, M.E. Stecher, and Julius C. Laden. Frandsen, Seeman, Raise, Engelbretson, and Johnson,(yes). Motion by Johnson seconded by Reiss to reconsider the application of M. E. Stecher for building permit. Frandsen, Seeman, Reises, Engelbretson, and Johnson,(yee). Motion by Engelbretson seconded by grandson to deny building permit to M.E.Stecber,(It was stated by nearby residents that there was condider= able damage." done to property by people who rented the horses of the owners of the proposed stable). Frandsen, Seeman, Reiss, Engelbretson, and Johnson,(yes). Motion: by Engelbretson seconded by 4ohnson to give #100.00 to The Rural Hennepin County Welfare Beard for the purchase of material for the Bevin` project now operating in the Village Mall,also authorizing a letter by the Chairman advising of an old clothes drive conducted by the Village.Material obtained to be renovated and made into garments by the workers on the Yelling project and to be distributed to the needy families in the village. Seeman; Reiss, Engelbretson, and Johnson, (yes). Frandsen (No). Motion by Engelbretson seconded by Johnson authorizing chairman Seeman to continue negotations for a WPA project for reconditdaning the village hall. Seeman, Reiss, Engelbretson, and Johnson,(yes). Frandsen (NO). Motion by Engelbreteca seconded by Johnson to set the village levy for 1938 at seven thousand fare:hundred 37500.00) dollars. , Frandsen, Seeman, Reiss, Engelbretson, and Johnson,(yes). 1 i LJ October 5th. meeting continued. Motion by Engelbretson seconded by Johnson to apportion $3600.00 to the poor fund,#3040.00 to the road and bridge fund,and #900.00 to the general fund,and the clerk to advise the county auditor of this action by the council. Frandsen, Seeman, Reiss, Engelbretson, and Johnson,(yes). Motion by Johnson seconded by Reiss to adjourn was so ordered.
