09-05-39 City Council MinutesSeptember 5, 1939 Meeting called to order by the chairman, Paul A. Seeman. Members present; Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, Milson. Minutes of the previous meeting read. There being no corrections or objections, minutes accepted as read. Motion by Reiss, seconded by Wilson, to grant the Minneapolis Gas Light Co, permit for the extension of its mains as requested. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, Wilson (Yes). Motion by Tolg, seconded by Reiss, that petition submitted by the Minneapolis Gas Light Co. for extension of said mains should read, "The company is the owner of the distribution system in the Village of Golden Valley". Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, Wilson (Yes). Motion by Reiss, seconded by Tolg, that bid for 18 inch culverts shall be awarded to the Golden Valley Lumber Co. with the understanding that the Village reserves the right to take any amount, diameter or size, and that the present price be guaranteed until June 1, 1940. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, Wilson (Yes). Motion by Reiss, seconded by Frandsen, that the clerk return the certified check to the Johnston Culvert Co. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, Nilson (Yes). Motion by Tolg, seconded by Reiss, that bids for resurfacing of roads in West Tyrol Hills be referred to the engineer, Mr. Graber, for a report on analysis and a special meeting to be called if necessary by the President. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, Wilson (Yes). Motion by Tolg, seconded by Frandsen, that Leonard Bies be given authority to list Materials for enlarging the village tool shed and submit his list to the Village Attorney who shall advertise for bids to be opened at the next regular meeting. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, Wilson (Yes). Motion by Tolg, seconded by Reiss, that the Attorney advertise for bids on snow plowing equipment. Bids to be opened at the next regular meeting.
