09-19-39 City Council MinutesSeptember 19, 1939 The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Paul A. Seeman. In the absence of Wilson, Recorder, it was moved by Reiss and seconded by Frandsen, that Tolg act as temporary recorder for the meeting. Seeman, Reiss, Frandsen, (Yes). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and there being no corrections or objections, the minutes were approved as read. Motion by Frandsen and seconded by Reiss, to buy two cloth wall maps of the village at $6.00 each. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, (Yes). Motion by Frandsen and seconded by Reiss to accept the bid of The Republic Creosoting Company for furnishing and applying road materials for the village, reserving the right to use the materials either in 1939 or 1940, and if used in 1939 to pay for same by a warrant payable June 1, 1940 with interest at 4% from the date of approval of invoice. Republic Creosoting Company agreed to furnish a steam roller and an operator for the same without cost to the village, a representative of The Republic Creosoting Company was present and agreed to the terms of the motion. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg,(Y(-s). Motion by Reiss, seconded by Frandsen, to return the checks of unsuccessful business for road materials. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, (Yes). Moved by Reiss, seconded by Frandsen, to request the County Commissioner for revaluation of Delphian Heights, Delphian Heights 2 and 3, before tax delin- quent parcels of these additions are offered for sale. Seeman, Frandsen, Reiss, Tolg, ('Yes). Motion by Reiss, seconded by Frandsen and unanimously carried, that the bid of Golden Valley Lumber Company for materials for village tool shed be laid on the table. Bids were received from various suppliers for motor equipment and snow plows. Moved by Reiss, seconded. by Frandsen and unanimously carried, these bids were laid over and referred to the council acting as a committee of the whole. Tolg was directed to prepare a summary of the bids and specifications for the motor equipment. r Motion by Reiss and seconded by Frandsen to adjourn and it was so ordered. A letter from The Golden Valley Lumber Company dated September 15, 1939, was received in which the company acknowledged receipt of the Council"s acceptance of their bid for culverts.
