01-21-41 Council Minutess January 21,1941 - The meeting was called to order by the Chairman Raymond T.Raskop. Members present Raskop, Frandsen, Reiss, Busch, Nilson. A Treasurers report was g64, and placed on file. A letter from the Golden Valley Planning Commission recommending that the Council reject a permit to Filmore sic Cann to build a double garage home on Lot 64 Jean Ave was read. A report from the Road Committee was read and placed on file. lotion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen to adopt the following Resolution: ',7HEREAS, There has been established by the Towns and Villages of Rural Hennepin County a Surplus Distribution and Food Stamp Committee for the purpose of administering on behalf of the Towns and Villages of Rural Hennepin County the distribution of surplus commodities and issuance of food order stamps in connection with the Federal Surplus Marketing Administration, Now,Therefore, Be It Resolved, That Golden -Valley hereby Delegates the administration of s Pius coam odity disribution and food stamp administration to the rural riennepin County Surplus Distrbution and Food Stamp Committee, and that it is hereby agreed that it will conform to all rules and regulations that may be estaolished by such committee for the purpose of administering the program and it further agrees to pay its prorated share of the cost of administering the program proaWotly and currently upon the receipt of each billing from the Committee. Raskop, Frandsen, Reiss, Busch vU lson (YES) v'iotion by Reiss seconded by Busch to adopt the following resolution: 1_4 Resolved: By the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota; That pursuant to Chapter 272, Laws of 1939, the salary of the President of the Council of the Village of Golden Valley is hereby fixed at $20900 per month during the year 1941 and the salary of efaeh trustee of the Village of Golden Valley is hereby fixed at $15.00 Der month during the year 1941. It is further resolved that the salary of the Recorder of the Village of Golden Valley,Hennepin County, M.innesota,is hereby fixed at 420.00 per month for the year 1941. Raskop, Frandsen, Reiss, Busch (YES) Wilson (IVO) A copy of a letter addressed to Lr.W.E.Duckett from State of Minnesota Dept. of Highways was read and placed on file. A letter from Mr Raskop addressed to lir Al acGinnis, commissioning him Captain of the Golden Valley Police force, was read and placed on file. The chairman instructed Captdan tic Ginnis to sake a study of the new speed zones adopted by the Council, and that he give a report at the next council meeting. A report was given by ;sir. Reuss , chairman of the Relief administration. The chairman appointed krs Busch a member of the Village Relief Board for a one year term and asked conformation by the Counciil. Officers were asked to make an inspection of the Weidholtz propett,,y and give a report at the next council meeting. An application to haul carbbage out of Golden Valley was referred to the Village Attorney. Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen to adjourn was so ordered.
