06-02-41 Council MinutesJune 1,1941 The meeting was called to order by the Chairman Raymond T.Raskop. =embers present Raskop, Frandsen, Reiss, Busch, Nilson . Minutes of the regular council meetings held May 6th and May 20th, and the special council weetings held :bray 12th and May 29th were read and approved. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, was held at the Village Hall on Tuesday, the 3rd day of June, 1941, at eight o'clock, P.M. The following members were present: Raskop, Fandsen, Reiss, Busch, 4ilson. and the following were absent: none The President of the Village Council then announced that the meeting would consider the petition for street improvement in Glenurban. Thereupon Member Reiss introduced the following resolu- tion and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION TO MAKE IMPROVEMENT iCiEREA.S, A petition has been filed for a street improvement on the following streets: Westwood Drive frcm the intersection of Glenwood Avenue, southerly to the edge of platted area of Glenurban 2nd Addition; Meadow Lane from the intersection of Glenwood Avenue, southerly to the South edge of the platted area of Glenurban 1st Addition; Janal n Road from the intersection of Meadow Lane, westerly for a distance of about 500 feet; then northerly for a distance of about 500 feet; then easterly for an approximate distance of 300 feet to the east edge of the platted area of Glenurban 2nd Addition; Glencrest Avenue from the intersection of Meadow Lame, westerly to the intersection of Janalyn Road; Parkview Terrace from the intersection of Glenwood. Avenue, southerly to the south edge of the platted area of Glenurban lst Addition; and WHEREAS, It has been determined that the requisite number of owners of property abutting upon the streets in said Addition named in said petition have signed said petition; and WHEREAS, Notice of hearing on said petition has been duly published for two successive weeks in Hennepin County Enterprise, the official news- paper of the Village,'the last publication being at least seven days to the date set for hearing; and prior WHEREAS, Said petition came on for hearing on May 29, 1941, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. at the Village Hall, that being the time and place specified in said notice of hearing; and WHEREAS, At that time the Council declared the meeting open for the consideration of all objections and all persons who desired to be heard in reference to said petition; and WHEREAS, No one appeared in opposition to said petition; and WHEREAS, Said hearing was duly adjourned until this meeting; IVOuu, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, that it is hereby determined to mak said improvement as specified in said petition. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the said matter be referred to as engineer for the presentation of grope' plans akd specifications, The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution seconded by , and upon vote be thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Raskop, Frandsen, Reiss, Busch iiilson and the following voted against the same: none whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. A treasurer report was read and placed on file. 4 report was given by the Road Commissioner, Lyle Larson. Ar. Swan, a member of the G en Urban road committee, asked the Council to place a culvert across Glenwood Ave -at JILeadow Lane. Glenwood Ave. being a County road the Clerk was instructed to write a letter tor.Ducxett,:�enn. County Engineer. yotion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that the Clerk be authorized to issue permits for Fire iiorks Stands. A letter from the Bldg Inspector ,Swan Erickson, with his suggestions and recommendations in respect to minimum sideyard requirements in all old accepted Platted Areas., that are covered by the Zoning Ordinance in section 111-P-17 (B) was read.
