A special meeting of the Village Council of the Vill�-:ge of Golden
Valley, cal -,ed pursuant to due notice, was called to order by the Presiders
at 8 P. M., October 12, 1943. Members present: Raskop, Busch, Frandsen,
Reiss. Members absent: Wilson.
Following an announcement that the purpose of the meeting :as to con-
sider the request of the White family for condemnation of a right of way
from Olson Highway to their property, Miss White appeared and spole in
favor of granting the request.
Mr. and Mrs. Bayliss appeared in opposition to granting the request
and stated that they had offered., and now renewed their offer, to dedicate
or sell a, right of way for $1,000.
Mr. Cleo Kennedy appeared in favor of granting the request and stated
that it was his opinion that a right of way would render the Bayliss pro
erty more valuable.
Miss White stated that her family was willing to don.arte a strip aerols
their land connecting adjoining property with the property of the Bayliss
family and the proposed right of way.
It wasthen moved by Reiss, seconded by Frandsen that the following
resolution be adopted:
Be it resolved that the request of the White family for condemnation
of a right of way be referred to the Planning Commission and that the
Planning"Commission be requested to call a special meeting for October
21, 1943, for the =rpose of considering the matter and making a recommenda:
tion to the Council;
Be it further resolved that the Council urges all interested parties
to appear before the Planning Commission with a. view to working out a solu-
tion which will make condamnation unnecessary.
The resolution was adopted by rollcall vote as follows: Raskop, Busch
Frandsen, Reiss: yes.
Motion by Reiss, seconded by Busch to adjourn was a.d&pted by rollcall
vote as follows: Raskop, Busch, Frandewn, Reiss: yes.
