04-04-44 Council MinutesApril 4,1944 The regular meeting og the Village Council was called toorder by the chairman Geo.E.Hanson Members present Hanson Frandsen Moe and Wilson Member absent Reiss Minutes of the regular Council meeting held March 21,1944 were read Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen that the minutes stand approved as read. Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) Minutes of the special Council meeting held March 30,1944 were read Motiom by Moe seconded by Frandsen that the minutes stand approved as read. Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) 1r.Ilyers, au Attorney spoke in behalf of Federick Held on the vacation of a certain abandoned easement from State Trunk Hghwy #100 to and through Block one of Suring Green. The chairman ask the audiance if anyone had any objection. There were no objections. Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen to adopt the following resolution: Resolved that that Dart which lies between State Trunk Hghwy # 100 and Colonial Drive, of the easement created and described in that certain deed recordeeed in Book 28 of Deeds page 313, of the records in the office of the Register of Deeds of Hennepin County be, and the same hereby is, vacated. Roll call Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) Mr. Moe chairman of the license committee recommended that cigarette, soft drink and On sale 3.2 licenses be granted to Geo Kusch. Motiojby Moe seconded by Wilson that a 3.2 on sale, soft drink, and cigarette licenses be grnated to Geo. Kusch Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) Hanson (NO) Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen that a 3.2 on sale licensee for seven months period, a cigarette license, and a on sale liquor license be granted to the Golden Valley Golf Club. Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) Air. StiAt spoke to the Council about a road through the Golf Club being used by the Village people. The road matter was referred to the road committee. Mr. Kane speaking in behalf of John Finn ask the Council to rezone, a certain area on Wayzata Blvd and Winenka Ave. Motion by Frandsen seconded by Moe that the request of rezoning be referred to the Planning Commission. Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES. Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen to adopt the following_re_solution Whereas, Lot 384, Belmont Addition to the County of Henn. State of Blinn., has been forfeited to the State of Minn. for non payment of taxes and is about to be offered for sale as provided be law, and whereas said lot 384, Belmont Addition is located within the Village limits of the Village of Golden valley Henn County, Minn , and is des- ireable for nark and recreation purposes for said Village. Now. IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 511, Laws of the State of Minn for 1941, the Village acquire said above described premises for said public use and accept a deed of coneyance to staid premisesand cause the same to be properly recorded and to pay any expense incidental thereto from the general funds of said Village of Go& lden Valley Roll call Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen that the Council accept the terms of the Northfield and Southern R.R. for the storing of the'Village Fire truck and that the Village Attorney write them a letter of accept ances. Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen that Arnie Denzin be authorized to purchase guard railing and wire to be used along Village Roads. Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) The Village attorney gave a report on the White Road. A Treasurers report, read by Uarl Johnson was ordered placed on file A police report read by Capt. Mc Ginnis was placed on file. Motion by Frandsen seconded by Moe that the clerk be instructed to advertise for bids on a new police Car. Bids to be opened April 181,1944 Hanson Frandsen Moe Wilson (YES) :yrs Seeman gave an oral report on the last War Fund Drive. Motion by Frandsen seconded by Moe to adjourn was so ordered.
