The meeting was called to order by the chairman Geo. E. Hanson

Minutes of the regular council meeting held Aug 15,1944 were read
Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the minutes stand approved
as read.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the minutes stand approved
as read.

The chairman opened the hearing on the rezoning of Everette Frandsn
property from apen development to community store,
No one appeared against the proposed rezoning.
Motion by Reiss seconded -by Frandsen that lot 49 and that parr of
lot 57 Auditor's subdivision No. 322, lying north of lot 56 and
between the east line of lot 55 and the extension north to 6th
Ave North of the east line of lot 56, all in section 32, Township
118, Range 21, Hennepin County, I&innesota, be rezoned from open
development to community store, and that the Village attorney
be instructed to draw up an ammendment to the zoning ordinance.

The matter of the platting of Sun Riser Lane Addition was brought
up for discussion.
Ir. Kane appeared and spoke in opposition to immediate acceptance
of the plat and suggested that defore approval the Council should
require Dr. Moore to put the road in acceptable condition and seek
the opinion ofthe Village attorney as to the disposition of the
special assessment now levied against all the proposed addition.
The Village Attorney syated that it was his apinion that the entire
special assessment, in the event of platting, would continue to
be a loin against each one of the lots in the proposed addition.
Dr. Moore appeared and spoke in favor of approval of his plat.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that the Sun Rise Lane
plait be accepted and approved, subject to completion of the roads
and approval by the Road Committee,, Mr. Frands n was instructed to
inspect the read to company with Dr. Moore.

etion by Reiss seconded by Mme to adopt the following resolution:
BE. IT RESOLVED., that the Village Council of GoldanValley has
as its attorney, Aurther T. Nelson, and he hereby is directed to
take such steps as are legally provided for the presentation to the
Council of Golden Valley that matter of the vacation of the alley
located in Block----- Delphian Heights; 0econd Unit, Golden Valley
Minnesota, and that Oke he be paid an attorney's fee of not to
exceed $50.00 for said service.

The chairman presented plans for a new fire house. He stated
that the cost of repatrmgg the present fire house woAld be $610.00
and the cost of building a new fire House would be $4200.00
Motion by FrAndsen seconded by Feiss that the fire house matter be
I referred to the planning Commission and that they be requested
to have a public hearing a$ their Sept. 14,1944 meeting.

Motion by Wilson seeconded by Reiss that the Police and fire funds
be consolidated with the General fund in accordance with the
recommendations found on page 6 of the report of the public
examiner.

Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss to set the Village levy at $15,000.00
to be proportioned as follows: $6,000.00 to the General Fund,
$8500.00 to Road and Bridge Fund A500.00 to the Poor fund, and that
the clerk forwar4 this information to the County autitors.
