08-21-45 Council Minutes1 August 91,1945 The meeting was called to order by the President Geo. Hanson Frandsen Reiss Moe Filson that the minutwe stand annroved (YES) A Minutes of the special Council meeting held Aug 10,1945 were read Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the minutes stand apnrovdd as read. Hanson Frandsen Reiss Moe Nilson (YES) The Village attorney read a. letters ta6t r3aesignation which was pdLaced on file. Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen to accept Mr Kanes resignation at the same time thanking him for his consientious and efficient services in behalf of the Village of Golde{� Valley. Hanson Frandsen Reiss Moe Nilson (YES) A letter from the Richfield Youth Council was read and filed. A letter from the Planning Commission, stated that Mr Cleo Kennedy was instructed to get the signatures of all those who approve the wakving of the ordinance requirements in connection with the develonement of June Ave in So Tyrol Hills, was read and filed. A letter from the Planning Commission recommended that the Council approach the County Highway athorities as to the County construction and ::Ixa.int-i nanee of an outlet road from Kelly Drive to 14th, was read and filed. Mr Kane reported that he had consulted with officials of the Mple Water dept., and he advised the Council that connection for Glen View Terrace counld be made at any time following application to the taping p'rrmit clerk. Mr Kane reported that he would turn over his correspondance with the State auditor on retirement of the State bonds to his sucessor. The chairman recommended that Sept 521945 be the date of the special election on the primary question. Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the election boards for the Special Village Election on Sbpt. 5,1945 shall consist of the following: Election board # 1 MrssGeo. I -Mr Jacbbson presented 7 affidavites in support of his position which was placed on file. kotion by Hanson seconded by Wilson to adopt the following resolution: "WHEREAS, the following item appears as a minute of the Council in the minutes of the meeting of June 5)1945: "Motion by Reiss seconded by Wilson to adopt the following resolution: Whereas it is essential in the fixing of the total amount of taxes levied in each year by the Village for all Gener&l and special Dur-poses)thiltbe population of such Village . A be determined' NOW therefore, be it resolved by the Village Council of time Village of Golden Valley that the Secretary of Stite.bei and he hereby is, requested to take a census of the population of the Village of Golden Valley; as provided in section 275.45 of Minn Statutes, 1941. Roll call Hanson Frandsen Reiss Moo Wilson (YES) Whereas) in truth and in fact no such Resolution was presented to- the Council at the meeting of June 5th 1945) and Whtreas) the purported Resolution contained in said item was not -prepared until June 10,1945) and was never in fact presented) passed, adopted or approved by the Council) and Whereas, the action of the Council on June 19*1945 purportedly approving the nroDosed minute of an action that was not taken at the meeting of June 5p1945 is a nullity; and Whereas, said item appearing in the minutes of the meeting of June 5,1945 is misleading and contrary to the facts) It is hereby moved, that the action taken with respect to said proposed minute on June 19)1945 is hereby rescinded and tha Durtion of the minutes of said meeting of June 5;1945 above set forth be, and hereby is 1 expunged from the record. Motion by Moe seconded by Wilson to adopt the following resolution Moved that the Council hold a meeting,at 8.00P.M. on Tues. Sept 4th,1945) at the Village Hall) Golden Valley) at which meeting the Council shall conduct a hearing on the matter of the nro-posed revocation of the on*sale liquor license issued to Iver Stanger on July 17;1945 for the premises known as the Boulevard ClEel that the Clerk be directed to give notice of such meeting to said Iver E Stanger.
