The President called for bids on the Blacki Topping of Sunset Ri#ge The following bid was received. Bid og the Jay W Craig Ce in the sum of 40 cents per square yard. Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe to adopt the following resdlution Whereas pursuant to advertisTment ter bids published in the Robbins dale post on Sept. 1946, for the improvement of Sunset Ridge by black topping the following bid has been received and opened* J.W Craig Co in the sum of 40 cents per square yard. Therefore be it resolved by the -Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley that J W Craig Co is hereby determined to be the bid of the lowest responsible bidder and the President and clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said J W Craig co in the name of the Village for improvement of said portion of°said street Sunset Rifge from Natchez Ave to Sunset Revine, according to the plans and specifications therefore which have heretofore been approved by this council and filed in the office of the clerk at tle price specified in said bid, and which said contract shall be approved as to form by the Village attorney, 'Roll call Swenson Frandsen eiss koe Wilson (YES) The President opened the hearing on the assessmnet for improving of the alley in block one Delphian Heights2"nd unit No one appeared against the assessment. Motion by Moe seconded by 11eiss to adopt the following resolution: Whereas proposed assessment for the cost of the improvement of allay in Block One Delphian Heights 2 nd unit by grading and opening up same, has been duly filed with the Village Clerk and opened to public inspection and notice has been published in the Robbinsdale Post on Sept. 191946 that this Council will pass upon said proposed assess- ment at this 41me present meeting, and this council has met at the time and place specified in said notice, and heard and passed upon all objections thereto, now therefore. "e it Resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Golden valley that said proposed assessment which is hereby referred to and made a part hereof, it hereby adopted, and an assessment it hereby levied against each of the lots, parts of lots, peices and parcels of land described therein in the sums therein respectively set forth, and each of said tracts of land is hereby found to be benefited in the 234 amount of the assessment levied against it herein: Be it further resolved that each assessment shall be payable in two equal annual installments extending over a period of two years, the first to be payable on the first day of June 1941V, all deferred payments are to bear interest at the rate of 6% per annum. Motion by Frandsen seconded by `eiss that the application be referred to the Planning Commission for a location in the future planning of Golden Valley ,. Motion by Moe seconded by Frandsen that the the Goldan Valley Commercial Clubs donation, in a special play ground fund earmarked for the Village. ., wenson Frandsen eiss Mee ilson (YES) r w+ Council accept with thanks and that it be placed future play grounds in A letter from the Golden Valley Civic League asking the council for permission to study possible development and determine how the 20. acre Western Ave Park could serve the community best was read. Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that Mr Elstad's application be referred to the license committee, and that the committee repot back at the next Council meeting.
