12-08-48 City Council Minutes274 December 8, 1948 Pursuant to due call a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley was held at the Village Hall at 7:30 P.11.on Wednesday, December 8. The following mem— bers were present: President Stasel; Trustees Frandsen, Pinch, Putnam and Reiss. Minutes of the meeting held November 30 were read and on moticn by Reiss seconded by Pinch approved. There followed a continued discussion of the need for ?, new truck for the road department and it was generally agreed that a. 4 -wheel drive with 3 -'ion capacity would best fill the need. Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen carried authorizing the clerk to advertise as follows, bids to be opened December 21: 3 -Te Four-wheel drive truck with a minimum engine of 320'inches of piston displacement with the following equip- ment: Minnesota: enofir plow lights; H l ater and defroster; six 900-20 tires and a spare rim; Hydraulic dump box of four to six yards capacity; one-way snow plow power lift. Bidders to make allowance for the trade-in of one 1'?40 Marmon -Herrington Ford equipped with one -'gray snow plow. Fire Chief Shuttleworth the type of equipment needed availability as war surplus. Trustee Reiss offered the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED, that the contract submitted by the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board of the County of Hennepin for the administration and supervision of poor relief in the Village of Golden Valley be accepted and approved: and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the proper officers of said Village of Golden Valley be directed to execute said contracts in duplic=te and when executed to return one of said contracts to the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board. The question was on the adoption of the resolution and the roll being called there were 5 yeas and no nays, as follows: Frandsen, Pinch, Putnam, Reiss and Stasel - Yea; and so the resoll.tion was adopted.
