A special meeting of the Councilof the Village of Golden
Valley was held at the Village Hall on Tuesday, ''arch 29, at
8:00 P.M. with the following members andwerin g to roll call:
Trustees Stark, Pinch and Putnam. Trustee Pinch acted as
temporary chairman.
Minutes of the meeting held March 15 were read and on
motion by Stark seconded by Pinch approved.
The Chairman opened the meeting to the continued hearinE
for consideration of a master zoning plan. Llr. Nason of
Morell & Nichols, Inc. and a. quorum of members of the Plan—
ning Commission were in attendance.
Individual attention eras given to each of the areas
suggested for rezoning and those in attendance were accorded
the opportunity to express opinions for the consideration of
the Planning Commission and Council.
Trustee Reiss assumed his chair.
General agreement it;ae reached on the recommendations of
the Planning Cormmission representatives to accomplish the
following:

Parcel A: Adopt without change
Parcel B:' Establish building lines 33 feet East of the Center
line of Winnetka. Avenue and 70 Feet North of Center line of
Sixth Avenue North
Parcel C: Omit entirely
Parcel D: Establish building lines 45 feet South of center
line of 6th .Avenue North, 33 Feet East of Center lire of

Motion by Putnam seconded by Reiss carried, to give a
second and amended reading to an ordinance entitled "AN ORDIAiA_NCE
AMENDING THE ZONIF G ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
AND REZONING CERTAIN LANDS FROM OPEN DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT BY ord.
ESTABLISHING CERTAIN COMMUNITY STORE A17D COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS." Bk. 2
The clerk gave the ordinance its second reading in its amended n.89-91
form. Motion by Reiss was seconded by Stark and carried, to
approve the ordinance on its second reading and order its
publication.
Mr. M. L. Davenport of the Minneapolis, Northfield &
Southern Railroad explained in somewhat more detail their
request submitted at the meeting of March 15 for rezonir_g to
commercial district. It .vas explained that the informs.tion
had been referred to the Planning Commission and would require
their recomn;endation before further action would be taken by
the council.
Motion by Putnam seconded by Stark carried to grant the
Minneapolis Gas Company approval for main Extensions per their
maps 72 & 73, and Drawing 12.
Communication from J. E. P. Darrell f the Highway Department
was read informing the council that contract had been let for
installation of mechanical traffic signals at the intersections
of Glenwood Avenue and Golden Valley Road with Belt Lire flOO.
Communications dated March 23 and 25 were read from Blacker
& Blacker, Attorneys, representing; Kiddieland, Incorporated,
regarding proposal to install a miniature amusement concession
on -..the North side of Olson Highway at France Avenue. Following
discussion with Mr. Sidney Blacker on details of proposed
operation a motion by Stark seconded by Reiss carried requesting
the Village Attorney to draft a suitable ordinance to regulate
the enterprise,, to be considered at the next regular meeting.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Stark carried to grant the
followix.g licenses for the year beginning April 1, 1949 per
applications on file:

Motion by Reiss seconded by Stark to adjourn toApril 5
