December 18, 1951
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular
meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Minnesota, was duly held at the Village Hall in
said Village on December 18, 1951, at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
The following were present: Pinch, Putnam, Stark,
Stasel, and the following were absent: Reiss.
Motion by Pinch seconded by Putnam carried to approve
the minutes of the December 5 meeting as read.
Motion by Putnam seconded by Pinch carried to give
the first reading of an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF GOLDEN VALLEY AS AMENDED
AND CHANGING CERTAIN AREA REQUIREMENTS". The first reading
was given to the ordinance.
Motion by Pinch seconded by Putnam carried that due to
an urgency a second reading be given to "AN ORDINANCE AMEND-
ING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF GOLDEN VALLEY AS AMENDED AND
CHANGING CERTAIN AREA REQUIREMENTS". A second reading was
given to the ordinance. Motion by Putnam seconded by Pinch
carried to approve the second reading of the ordinance and

Letter of December 17 from the Planning Commission was
read transmitting final drafts of the recommended changes
in the zoning ordinance, with an explanation of the work
V done by the ordinance committee and the Planning Commission
as a whole. Motion by Pinch seconded by Putnam carried to
accept the letter of December 17 and to commend the Planning
Commission for the extensive and excellent work done in re-
vising and preparing drafts of the zoning ordinance and
directing the village attorney to proceed with the prepara-
tion of the final draft and regular ordinance form.
Letter of December 17 from the Planning Commission was
read which listed several names recommended for considera-
tion by the Council for appointment and reappointment to
the Planning Commission for 1952. The Council took the
matter under advisement.
Letter was read from County Agricultural Agent setting
a meeting for weed inspectors December 19 in Robbinsdale
City Hall. Terzich was designated to attend in behalf of
the Council and to report at the next meeting.

Letter of December 3 from the State Fire Marshall was
read outlining plans for holding a fire school at the
University Farm Campus April 28 through May 21 1952 at a
nominal cost per fireman. The matter was referred to Fire
Chief Shuttleworth for suggestions.
Fire Marshall reports were presented, reviewed and
placed on file.
Further discussion on the Village's participation in
the county nurses program was postponed until the first
meeting in January in order that more data can be obtained.
Terzich gave a verbal report of the meeting held in
the FHA offices on December 7. It was indicated that the
main topic of discussion centered on establishing more rigid

Plans and site plans were presented for the Meadowbrook
School addition. Motion by Pinch seconded by Stark carried
to approve the site plan and building plans for the Meadow -
brook School addition as presented and placed on file.
Motion by Putnam seconded by Stark carried to set the
next regular meeting of the Council on Thursday, January 3,
1952, due to the fact that January 1 is a legal holiday.
C. W. Bryan, treasurer, reported that $90,000 of Fund
No. 15 funds had been invested in United States Certificates
of Indebtedness at an interest rate of 1-7/8/ and placed in
custody of the Lincoln Office of the Northwestern National
Bank, such certificates to mature June 301 1952. They can
be withdrawn only on the signatures of the mayor, clerk and
treasurer.

the bills, as follows, in the total amount of $4364.65:
