07-01-55 Special Meeting1 1 SPECIAL MEETING of the VILIAGE COUNCIL July 1, 1955 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held in the Village Hall in said Village on the 1st day of July, 1955, at 7:00 P.M. The following members were present: Bies, Foss, Nadasdy, Rahn, and Stark: and the following members were absents None. MOVED by Rahn seconded by Foss carried that the reading of the minutes of June 21 be dispensed with until the meeting of July 5, 1955, unless some member of the audience wishes them read. (The minutes were not read.) Hope Chest Rezoning: MOVED by Stark seconded by Bies carried to a°eject the application for Hope Chest rezoning, and,if a new application is made at a later date, it will be reconsidered. Public He Co, The three notices of public hearing regarding the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, as instructed by this Council at the meeting of June 21, 1955, were duly posted, and the affidavit by the Deputy Village Clerk of posting said notices was ordered placed on file. The Mayor announced that this is the time and place for the public hearing above referred to and all persons present who desire to do so were afforded opportunity to Eexpress their views thereon. Name of Objectors None Nature of Objection None The Mayor then asked for the proponents of the proposed amendments to the zoning Ordinance of Golden Valley, passed May 3, 1938. Mr. Boblett presented present and future plans of the corporation in question to the Village Council. Mr. Rahn asked that the Council be informed in confidence as to the name of corporation requesting the amendments of the Zoning Ordinance, Mr. Boblett asked thef10-6h.ncil to go into Executive Session which would be strictly confidential and any information they received would not be divulged by the Council at any time. Mr. Boblettasked for a straw vote on the amend- ments requested prior to disclosing to the Council the name of the corporation. First Motion on Amending Zoning Ordinances MOVED by Stark seconded by Rahn that the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance be passed providing that the corporation involved give a letter addressed to the Golden Valley Village Council signed by an official with the proper authority to sign such a letter stating its intention not to claim tax exemption and providing that upon dis- closing the name of the corporation, such corporation was satisfactory to the Council. Second Motion on Amending Zoning Ordinance: MOVED by Rahn seconded by Stark that the above first motion on amending the ZoningOrdinance berepealed and rescinded and that the proposed amendments, to the Zoning Ordinance of Golden Valley, passed May 3, 1938 be approved and passed. Roll call vote was taken with results as follows: Bies Yes Foss Abstained Nadasdy Yes Rahn Yes Stark Yes Motion carried MOVED by Rahn seconded by'Stark to give a first reading to an ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance of Golden Valley passed May 3, 1938, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING OF GOLDEN VALLEY, MINNESOTA, BY ESTABLISH- ING CERTAIN LAND AS A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, BY ELIMINATING HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS OF BUILDINGS ON CERTAIN LAND, AND BY ESTABLISHING CERTAIN USES AS PERMITTED USES IN THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT". Ordinance was read in full. Roll call vote was taken with results as follows: Bies Yes Foss Abstained Nadasdy Yes Rahn Yes Stark Yes Motion carried The above said Ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance of Golden Valley passed May 32 1938 was read in full. MOVED by Rahn seconded by Stark to adopt and pass the said Ordinance as read on its first reading. Roll call vote teras taken with results as follows: Bies Yes Foss Abstained Nadasdy Yes Rahn Yes Stark Yes Motion carried 1 1 MOVED by Rahn and seconded by Bies that due to the existence of urgencies that the second reading be given to said Ordinance. Roll call vote was taken with results as follows: Bies Yes Foss Abstained Nadasdy Yes Rahn Yes Stark Yes Motion carried. The said ordinance was read in full ; MOVED by Rahn seconded by Stark to adopt and pass the said Ordinance and that publication be ordered. Boll call vote was taken with results as follows: Bies Yes Foss Abstained hadasdy Yes Rahn Yes Stark Yes Motion carried. S."- Other Platters: Foss recommended John Enghauser fill Civil Service position vacated by A. G. Stasel. MOVED by Bies seconded by Stark carried to approve the recommendation of Rember Foss.
