06-28-56 Special MeetingMINUTFS BOARD OF TAX RFVIFil June 28, 1956 Pursuant to due call and notice therof the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley met as the Board of Tax Review on June 28, 1956, at 7:30 o!dlock P.M. The following was absent: Nadasdy. Acting Mayor Bies called the meeting to order at 7:35 o'clock P.M. Re Minneapolis Neuro - Psychiatric Clinic: The Village Administrator read the letter of April 18, 1956, from -said :clinic, signed by Harold H. Noren. Said letter was ordered placed on file in the office of the Village Clerk. Mr. Robert Van Hauer requested that the Council lay over consideration of the matter to the meeting of July 17, 1956. MOVED by Rahn seconded by Stark to de- fer action on the assessment of said clinic to the meeting of July 17, 1956. Mr. Marshall Jacobson: Lots Five and Six, Block three, Tyrol Hills: Mr. Marshall Jacobson, residing at 5517 E. Twin Lake Boulevard, Minneapolis, Minnesota, petitioned the Board of Tax Review to reduce the taxes on said lots. After a lengthy discussion Moved by Rahn seconded by Stark, carried to confirm assessor Pinch's Assessment Book Valuations. Special Assessments- Lateral Sewer Improvement No. 1. Mr. John Bonner, Jr. Attorney for Messrs. Hickock, Armstrong, and Neilson, re- quested the Council consider reduction of the special assessments levied upon the properties of the above mentioned persons by reason of the construction of lateral sewer improvement No. 1 Mr. Bonner was advised that this was neither the time or the place for the Council to take such matters under consideration, and furthur, inasmuch as the admistrative staff had not been alerted to this matter, the Council could not profitably con- sider it at this time. Moved by Rahn seconded by Stark carried to lay this matter over to the meeting of July 17, 1956. Appeal of Mr. Vincent J. Cavennaugh : Mr. Pinch advised the Council that Mr. Cavannaugh, residing at lot five, Block one, Spring Green, 500 S. Lilac Drive, had filed a petition in the district court re- questing the lowering of taxes on the above referenced property. Moved by Rahn seconded by Stark carried to instruct the Village Attorney to participate in the defense of the suit filed by Mrt Cavannaugh. Moved by Rahn seconded by Stark carried to adjourn the Board of Tax Review to July 17, 1956, upon which date the meeting will be reconvened in the Village Hall in the Village of Golden Valley, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. a e &rk. 1 1 1
