07-30-56 Special Meeting�d SPECIAL MEETING of the VILLAGE COUNCIL July 30, 1956 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Special Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held at the Village Hall in said Village on July 30, 1956, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, and Teresi; and the following were absent; None. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:40 o'clock P.M. Public Hearing - Rezoning, Forster Distributing Company: The Deputy Clerk presented an affidavit of publication of notice of public hearing on the rezoning of certain property lying south of Laurel Avenue extended, and West of Turner's Crossroad South, described in a resolution of this Council relating thereto adopted on July 17, 1956. Said affidavit was examined, approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the Village Clerk. MOVED by Bies seconded by Teresi carried to give a first reading to an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING CODE BY ESTABLISHING A CERTAIN LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT". MOVED by Rahn seconded by Stark carried to approve the above ordinance herein quoted on its first reading. MOVED by Rahn seconded by Stark carried to give a second reading to the above ordinance entitled: 'AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING CODE BY ESTABLISHING A CERTAIN LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT", on the grounds that a public urgency exists. MOVED by Rahn seconded by Stark carried to approve the above ordinance herein quoted by title on its second reading, and to order publication thereof. See Ordinance Book Page The Council was advised that the Forester Company had agreed to construct any building on the premises with brick or brick facing on three sides, and that any building was to be of a design which would harmonize with the nearby residential construction, and further, that said company agreed that there would be no extensive parking lots between said building and Turner's Crossroad __ -- and that all he-avy traffic would use Wayzata Boulevard for ingress and egres. The Council instructed the Administrator to secure from the Forester Company a letter agreeing to the foregoing conditions. MOVED by Stark seconded by Bies carried to approve the building plans as submitted and upon vote being taken thereon, all voted in favor thereof. Board of Tax Review - Appeal of Mr. Arthur J. Roskraft, 69.5 St. Croix Ave.: The Village Assessor recommended an adjustment in Mr. Roskraft's tabes. MOVED by Stark seconded by Bies carried to reduce the assessment on said property from $13,500.00 to 48,000.00. Member Rahn abstained and Member Nadasdy voted "NO". -2- "Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Village Council, July 30, 1956" Honeywell - Request for Sanitary Sewer Lateral: Mr. McLean appeared on behalf of the Minneapolis Honeywell Regulator Company. MOVED by Rahn seconded by Teresi carried to request the.G. M. Orr Engineering Company to furnish a preliminary report on the cost of a sanitary sewer lateral for the Honeywell area at no cost to the municipality. Amount of Assessment for South Trunk Sewer Area; After a lengthy discussion it was MOVED by Rahn seconded by Bies carried to instruct the Attorney to report on methods of assessment at the August 7, 1956, Council meeting.
