02-13-57 City Council Minutes-22 - SPECIAL MrETING of the VILLAGE COUNCIL February 13,1957 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held in the Village Hall in said Village on February 13, 1957, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Bies, Nadasdy, Teresi, and Stark; and the following was absent: Rahn.. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8:05 otclock P.M. Special Assessment Department: The Administrator introduced Mr. Donald McFarland and recommended his appointment as department head for the Special Assessment Department. MOVED by Stark seconded by Bies carried to ratify the appointment of Mr. McFarland as head of the Special Assessment Department as recommended by the Administrator. Park Board: The Golden Valley Park Board and Mr. Robert G. Corwine appeared before the Council and presented a summarized report, "Park and Recreation Survey", for the Golden Valley Park Board. Said report is on file in the Clerk's office. The Mayor recommended the report be studied by the Planning Commission and Administrative departments, and that when unanimous approval has been obtained the report be returned to Council for final approval. Bond Issue, Northwest Trunk Sewer: The Administrator submitted a study of the Northwest Trunk Sewer which is on file in the administrative office. Member Teresi introduced and read the following written resolution herein quoted by title and MOVED its adoption: "RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR SALE OF $776,000.00 IMPROVEMENT BONDS OF 1957 FIRST SERIES". Said bond sale to be held on March 5, 1957. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Bies, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Stark, and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None. Whereupon said resolution was declared -23 - Acquisition of Village Hall Site: The Administrator read a letter from Bleecker & Babcock, Attorney for Mr. Fred Holzapfel, dated February 5, 1957. After discussion, the Council instructed the Administrator that negotiations be continued for acqui- sition of the property known as the Holzapfel property. See Resolutions Book Page %,;?, . signature attested The Mayor questioned the Village Attorney regarding legal fees for work on Northwest Trunk Sewer #3. The Attorney stated the amount of the first bond issued, and the amount of the second bond issue for the Northwest Trunk Sewer are added together for purposes of computing at- torney's fees.
