Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Village Councils and Planning
Commissions of the Villages of Golden Valley and New Hope met at 8030
Olson Memorial Highway in said Village on August 13, 1957, at 7:30 otclock
P.M.
The following members were present from the Golden Valley Village Council:
Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, and Teresi; and the following were absent: None.
Also present were Village Administrator Royce Owens, Village Engineer Donald
Sorensen, and Village Attorney Stanley Kane.
The following members of the Golden Valley Planning Commission were present:
Arthur Flannagan, Edward Jordan, Robert LaBissioniere, George Loughland,
Harold Lynch, M. Kingsley Patterson, George Pennock, Bert D. Putnam, and
Hyman Schinder; and the following were absent: Joe L. Brown, Paul G. Velz,
John Borchert, Adrian Helgeson, Robert Raugland.
The following members of the Village Council of the Village of New Hope were
present: Collier, Trucker, Honsey and Winsberger; and the following was
absent: Morse.
The following members of the Planning Commission of the Village of New Hope
were present: William Hanley, Clarence Peterson, John Bauer, Palmer Nielson,
Honsey; and the following were absent: Terase Rudy, and Dwane Fritz.
Also present was Attorney William Corrick of the Village of New Hope.
The attorney for Golden Valley presented the resolution of the Village of
New Hope dated. August 5, 1957, entitled:
"RESOLUTION PROPOSING CONSOLIDATION OF THE VILLAGE OF NEW HOPE WITH THE
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY"
and stated that said resolution was in due form and complied with the statute.
Lengthy discussion followed.
No joint action was taken.
The Golden Valley Council requested that
study the matter, and report its findings
the Golden Valley Planning Commission
to the Council prior to September
