SPECIAL MEETING
of the
VILLAGE COUNCIL
July 28, 1958
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was
held at 8030 Olson Memorial Highway in said Village on July 28, 1958, at
8:00 o*clock P. M.
The following members were present: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer,
and Teresi; and the following was absent: None.
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8:10 P. M.
Present were Village Administrator and Clerk, Roger K. Ulstad; Assistant
Village Attorney, Neal Peterson; Village Engineer, Donald Sorensen, Village
Building Inspector, Dan Lynch, President of the Planning Commission, George
Pennock.
Re: Lots 219 220 Belmont Addition; 6738 and 6742 Knoll Street:
Mr. Owen Nelson, Attorney, again presented the case for Golden Rule Realty
Company, regarding Lots 219, 220, Belmont Addition, and referred to Judge
Weeks ruling on same.
The following objectionswere present: Mr. H. B. Garnes, 6801 Knoll Street;
Mr. D. M. Zimmerman, 6800 Knoll Street; Mr. George Olson, 6716 Knoll Street.
The Attorney stated inasmuch as Golden Rule Realty have already acted in
reliance on the Village officials permission to construct said buildings,
the Village is in a very weak position if the Golden Rule Realty Company
started a suit against the Village to continue construction.
The Mayor stated the position of the Village, in his opinion, is one of
upholding the laws as they stand or approaching the problem froma practical
view point.
LAVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan that the Village place a stop order on
the existing lot #220 Belmont Addition where the permit is issued.
Upon roll call vote being taken thereon, the -members were recorded as voting
as follows:

The Mayor declared the motion carried.
MOVED by Scherer seconded by Teresi carried to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 P. M.
