09-22-58 Special MeetingSPECIAL MEETING of the VILIAGE COUNCIL September 22, 1958 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting M f the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, held at the Village Hall in said Village on September 22, 1958, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. The following members were lockePt:M.Band,theFlannagan, followingScherer, absent Teresi; Nadasdy arrived at 8.15 0 Present were Village Administrator and Clerk, Roger K. Ulstad; Village Attorney, Stanley D. Kane; Village Treasurer, C. W. Bryan; Village Engineer, Donald T. Sorensen; Chief -of -Police, Everett Frandsen; Finance officer, John Murphy; Road Superintendent, Arno Denzin; Assistant Fire Chief, Al Hanover; President of the Park Board, Ray Stockman; Vice President of the Park Board, John W. Byrnes; Secretary of the Park Board, Raymond G. Petersen; Recreation Director, Glen Reed; Representative of the Jaycees, Merton Dresser; Larkin McLellan, Local #49. Request for Sin Permit-Henne in Cooperative Seed Exchange; 8140 -6th Avenue r The Administrator presented the request for a sign permit. MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Teresi carried to grant the sign permit at 8140 -6th Avenue North, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. Awarding of Bid -One Motor Patrol: MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to award the bid to the Wm. H. Zeigler Company, in the total amount of $20,419.00. Local #49 - Street Department Rates for 1959: The Administrator presented a wage rate survey dated September 19, 1958. MOVED by Bies seconded by Flannagan carried to accept the wage rate recommended on the above referenced survey, however should the other communities shown on the survey adjust their rate upward, the Council recommends a $5.00 increase in Golden Valleys rate. Fire Department Budget� Requests: Mr. Al Hanover was present and discussed the Fire Department Budget-wi'ih the Council. The Council feels that consideration should be given next year to the purchase of a truck and ladder; and the construction of a dormitory, this to be accomplished by a referendum vote. Special Meeting of the Village Council, September 22, 1958 The 1959 budget was approved inthe amount of $27,888.80. Re: Investment of -Village Funds: LVED by Flannagan seconded by Teresi carried to authorize the Village Treasurer:to invest $150,000.00 in United States Treasury Bills.
