SPECIAL MEETING
of the
VILLAGE COUNCIL
September 30, 1958
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was
held at the Village Hall in said Village on September 30, 1958 at 7:30
o'clock P. M.
The following members were present: Flannagan, Nadasdy, and Teresi; and
the following were absent: Bies, and Scherer.
Present were Village Attorney, Stanley D. Kane; Village Engineer, Donald
Sorensen; Special Assessment Supervisor, Robert Burns; and Finance Officer,
John Murphy.
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:35 o'clock P. M.
Re: Complaint of Property Owners - Yale Garden Homes Special Assessments:
Property owners present from the Yale Garden Homes area were:
H. G. Purdy, 3301 Scott Avenue North
Walter J. Rock, 3321 Scott Avenue North
Chester Barros, 5150 - 33rd Avenue North
Mr. Purdy submitted a written report of the problems of the group of
property owners who had purchased homes with the understanding that the
special assessments for street improvements would be paid by the contractor.
Said report was read, considered, and ordered placed on file in the office
of the Village Clerk.
The Council assured the property owners that nothing can be done by the
Village in this matter. Council suggested that the property owners hold
a meeting with Mr. Cavanaugh, Representative of L. Z. Carlson, Homebuilders,
to attempt to resolve;theproblem to the satisfaction of all concerned.
Request for Public Hearing -Rezoning, Glenwood Hills Hospital,
3901 Golden Valley Road:

MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan, carried to call a public hearing for
October 21, 1958 to rezone certain property of Glenwood Hills Hospital to
Institutional Zone from Open Development.
Mill Rate for 1959:
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried that the mill rate for the
Village of Golden Valley be established at 26 mills for the year 1959.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Teresi carried to adjourn} the meeting
